Pipeline only works when profitable.

More meetings sound great. But if the economics do not work, more volume just scales the wrong thing.

FROM MY DESK THIS WEEK

I joined the Inspire Wealth podcast to talk about entrepreneurship, product-market fit, and why cold email should be treated like a math problem, not just a marketing channel.

The equation we covered:

  • Meetings: How many create one customer?

  • ACV: What is that customer worth?

  • LTV: What could they be worth over time?

  • Cost: What can you afford to spend to create the meetings?

One example: spend $50,000 to generate 50 meetings. If one closed deal is worth $100,000 annually and $300,000 over its lifetime, the math can work. If five wins only create $8,000 in revenue, it does not.

The cold email platform we actually use.
We have tested plenty of cold email tools. Instantly is the platform we continue using ourselves.
It helps us manage sending accounts, launch campaigns, monitor performance, handle replies, and keep a closer eye on deliverability without jumping between five different tools.
No platform can fix a weak offer or a bad list. But when the fundamentals are right, Instantly makes the outbound system much easier to run.

CEO’S PLAYBOOK TIP

Know your outbound math before you scale it.

  • Step 1: Calculate your meeting-to-close rate.

If 20 meetings create two customers, your close rate is 10%.

  • Step 2: Know your average deal size.

Use real closed revenue, not the biggest deal you hope to land.

  • Step 3: Add lifetime value.

A customer may be worth far more if they renew.

  • Step 4: Set your maximum cost per meeting.

Work backward from customer value. That gives you a ceiling for what outbound can cost.

  • Step 5: Scale only after the equation works.
More meetings should create more profitable revenue, not just a fuller calendar.

WHICH NUMBER DECIDES THE SCALE?

❝

Which metric tells you fastest whether outbound is actually worth scaling?

Reply and tell me which number you watch first: close rate, deal size, LTV, or cost per meeting.

A one-line answer is plenty. I may feature the best responses in a future issue.

MY LAST $.02

Outbound gets easier to judge when you stop asking whether it “works” and start asking whether the numbers work.

Scale the math, not the activity.

See you next time,
